Dr. Holmes, Diplomat of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery with a sub-specialty Certificate in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine, specializes in orthopedic surgery and athletic medicine. This includes sports and occupational surgery. Dr. Holmes has practiced medicine in San Antonio since the 1980's.
He has serviced not only adults and children but professional athletes
as well. These have included the Houston Astros, Houston Oilers, San
Antonio Spurs, San Antonio Missions, San Antonio Iguanas and the Sea
World Water Ski Team. He volunteers his time on weekends doctoring the
Football games of both Schertz High School teams and has most recently
volunteered as doc for the Crossman Drum and Bugle Band competitive
team based in San Antonio.
His community service does not end
here. Dr. Holmes appears on TV with his show "Ask The Doctor" every
Tuesday morning at 9:00 am and Sundays at 7:30 am. In his editorials he
informs patients of their options, the problems and hazards of
"gatekeeping" and managing their medical financial responsibilities. He
also interviews different specialists every week to inform the public
in "layman" terms of various contemporary health issues and solutions.
These broadcasts are vital to educating the public about the non-profit
Foundation as well. All sponsorships we receive are tax deductable and
are used to pay the hospital costs of our patients. Dr. Holmes receives
no remuneration for doing this service. Watch us on cable KBEJ-TV
channel 4 or KCWX channel 2 Tuesdays 9:00 am or Sundays at 7:30 am.
